The School of Public Policy (SPP) is the hub of interdisciplinary public policy research, teaching and engagement at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Schmidt Speaker at 2nd Annual UMass Social Entrepreneurship Day

SPP Professor of Practice Elizabeth (Betsy) Schmidt will serve on a panel, "Pursuing Business and Social Goals Through Hybrid Organizing," on Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 1:45-3:00 p.m. in the Cape Cod Lounge. 

SPP Students Compete for 2017 Hult Prize

Hadassah Minga Masudi and Zulekha Abu will compete as a team with Sustainability Science student Alicia Luhrssen in this year’s Hult Challenge on December 5. Supported annually by the Clinton Global Initiative, the Hult Challenge provides a $1 million award to a social enterprise designed to help the world's poorest and most vulnerable populations.

Five College Team Among NASA “Smart City” Competition Finalists

Palista Kharel (MPPA/MBA '18) and SPP Interim Director Charlie Schweik participated in the project that ranked fifth in the NASA World Wind Europa Challenge competition to design solutions for "smart cities."
