The MPP admissions committee assesses each student’s application based on academic record, letters of recommendation and work or volunteer experience. All applicants must have a strong cumulative grade point average and be either juniors or seniors at the University of Massachusetts Amherst or at Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke or Smith colleges. Applicants will also be expected to have demonstrated a strong commitment to public service through internships, research or employment or volunteer experience with policy-oriented organizations. GRE scores are not required.

Application Deadlines
January 13 Applications for current Five College seniors must be received by the Graduate Admissions Office. January 27 Date by which successful senior applicants will be notified.
March 1 Applications for current Five College juniors must be received by the Graduate Admissions Office.
April 15 Date by which successful junior applicants will be notified.

Program Costs
Costs for the MPP program include tuition, university fees, health care costs and living expenses. A breakdown of all costs is available through the Bursar's web site. When calculating tuition costs, please remember that the MPP program requires the completion of 36 credits.
